Your entire body will benefit from eating a whole-food, nutrient-dense diet, and that is ALWAYS the first place to start, but sometimes it is not enough, which is where lifestyle choices, including supplements, come in.

 

Knowing how to choose which supplements to include in your diet can be tricky. Over-the-counter supplements are not controlled in the same way as our prescription drugs are. Manufacturers often cut corners (cheap, poorly absorbed nutrients, dosage mislabeling, additives, colors, fillers, and allergens added, raw material not tested for toxins, inconsistent quality), and this can become problematic for the average consumer.  Think of supplements as a part of your diet. You want the best-quality food and the best-quality supplements you can buy.
